October 04, 2017 - Five teachers at Sir John A Macdonald Public School got a 'pie' in the face by Principal Marina Pinder on Wednesday, October 4, after their classes raised the most money for the schools Terry Fox Run last week. The 785 students at the east end Kingston school raised a grand total of $10,366.70, doubling their goal of $5,000.

October 05, 2017 - Students at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School get to try out the new city pedestrian crossover installed on Woodbine Road outside the west-end school in Kingston, Ont. on Thursday October 5, 2017. There are now nine pedestrian crossovers throughout the city. A fine for not yielding to a pedestrian when the lights are flashing is $150 to $500 and three demerit points.  There is a fine for cyclists and pedestrians who fail to follow cross properly as well. October 09, 2017 - Parts of Union Street, in Queen's University, saw full lane flooding during the heavy rainfall warning which lasted until around 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Monday. The same could be seen on other streets throughout Kingston.

October 31, 2017 - The haunted walkway is just one of the activities set up by the Grade 6 class at St. Pauls Catholic School for the schools United Way Fun Day in Kingston, Ont. on Tuesday October 31, 2017. The students raised $595 this year.
*EXTRA* October 31, 2017 - Local Tim Horton restaurant owners John and Leanne O'Mara and Sherri Agnew, all behind the cheque, announce this years Smile Cookie campaign raised $91,139 that will go to support the local neonatal intensive care unit at Kingston General Hospital, Kingston Health Sciences Centre, in Kingston
